2-Week Peru, Machu Picchu, North Peru, Trujillo, Chiclayo Tailor-Made Tour

Embark on a 12-day private and fully customized journey through Peru—a seamless blend of ancient kingdoms, living culture, and spectacular Andean landscapes. Designed for discerning travelers, this experience immerses you in Peru’s northern treasures and iconic southern wonders, all at your own pace.

Your adventure begins in Lima, Peru’s vibrant capital. Uncover millennia of history at the Larco Museum, home to one of the world’s most exquisite collections of pre-Columbian art. Step back in time at Huaca Pucllana, an adobe pyramid nestled in the heart of modern Miraflores. Later, a colonial city tour reveals Lima’s storied past—from the baroque facades of the Plaza Mayor to the timeless grace of the San Francisco Convent. Optional culinary experiences can introduce you to Lima’s globally renowned gastronomy, a perfect prelude to the journey ahead.

Fly north to Trujillo, cradle of the ancient Moche and Chimú civilizations. Explore the elegant colonial city center and then delve into the splendor of pre-Hispanic Peru. At the Huaca del Sol and Huaca de la Luna, admire millennia-old murals and the staggering scale of these Moche pyramids. Continue to the vast adobe metropolis of Chan Chan, once the capital of the Chimú Empire, where intricate friezes and ceremonial plazas tell tales of a powerful coastal society. Cap your visit with a seaside stroll through Huanchaco, a fishing village famous for its reed boats and oceanfront charm.

Your next destination is Chiclayo, a city brimming with archaeological riches. Visit Huaca Rajada, where the tomb of the Lord of Sipán—often called the “Tutankhamun of the Americas”—was discovered. At the Royal Tombs of Sipán Museum, marvel at the dazzling array of gold, ceramics, and textiles that once belonged to Moche royalty. The journey continues to the El Brujo Archaeological Complex, where the powerful Señora de Cao was unearthed, rewriting the story of female leadership in ancient Peru. Nearby, the Brüning Museum offers deeper insight into the cultures that once thrived along the northern coast.

From the desert shores of the north, fly south to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a land of breathtaking beauty and enduring traditions. Explore the hillside terraces and temples of Pisac, then connect with local artisans in its colorful open-air market. At the fortress of Ollantaytambo, stand in awe at the massive stones masterfully shaped by Inca hands. Step off the beaten path to visit the glimmering Maras Salt Ponds, still harvested by hand today, and the mysterious Moray Terraces, once an Inca agricultural laboratory.

Your journey ascends to its peak at the legendary citadel of Machu Picchu. Set against misty peaks and lush cloud forest, this UNESCO World Heritage site invites you to uncover its secrets with a private guide. Walk its ancient pathways, discover its sacred temples, and absorb the spiritual energy that continues to draw travelers from around the world.

Conclude your adventure in the imperial city of Cusco, where Inca foundations support colonial cathedrals and lively plazas. A guided city tour reveals the fusion of cultures, from the Qoricancha Temple to the iconic Cathedral of Cusco. Venture just outside the city to explore the monumental stonework of Sacsayhuaman, and nearby sacred sites including Tambomachay, Qenqo, and Puka Pukara—each echoing the grandeur of the Inca Empire.

With Latin Discoveries, your 12-day journey is more than a trip—it’s a tailored experience, shaped around you. From royal tombs to Inca citadels, every step connects you to Peru’s extraordinary heritage.
