Cruise Description

5-Day Expedition Cruise – Patagonia Adventure from Chile to Argentina

4-night Cruise from Punta Arenas to Ushuaia via Cape Horn

Set sail on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through the untamed wilderness of Patagonia on this 5-day / 4-night expedition cruise from Punta Arenas, Chile, to Ushuaia, Argentina. Experience the remote beauty of Chilean fjords, towering glaciers, and historic landing sites aboard an Australis expedition ship, offering exceptional comfort and personalized service at the edge of the world.

Your adventure begins in Punta Arenas, gateway to Chilean Patagonia, where you’ll board your vessel and head into the Strait of Magellan, navigating the legendary waterways first explored by European adventurers centuries ago.

Cruise to Ainsworth Bay, a spectacular wilderness area framed by snowcapped peaks and home to Southern elephant seals. Explore the Tuckers Islets, where you'll take a zodiac excursion to observe Magellanic penguins, cormorants, and other seabirds in their natural habitat.

Continue to the awe-inspiring Pía Glacier, where a short hike reveals panoramic views of this creaking ice giant spilling from the Darwin Mountains. Sail along Glacier Alley, a dazzling corridor lined with majestic tidewater glaciers, each named after European countries.

Cross into Argentinian Patagonia, reaching the mythic Cape Horn, a windswept, remote headland often referred to as the “End of the World.” Weather permitting, disembark for a rare landing at this iconic site. Your next stop is Wulaia Bay, a place of archaeological and historical significance once inhabited by the indigenous Yaghan people—where you can enjoy a scenic hike through Magellanic forest.

The expedition concludes in Ushuaia, the southernmost city on Earth, nestled between the Andes Mountains and the Beagle Channel.

This cross-border Patagonia cruise offers a perfect balance of wild nature, epic scenery, and rich human history—an unforgettable voyage across one of the planet’s last true frontiers.
