Day 1 RIO DE JANEIRO : ICONIC BEACHES, SUNSET AT THE SUGAR LOAF

Arrival at Galeão, Rio de Janeiro International Airport, assistance with transfer to your hotel.

Check in at your hotel and enjoy some free time around the legendary beach of Copacabana.

(Check-in available after 2pm. Early check-in may be possible upon availability).

Afternoon

In the afternoon, enjoy a tour of Rio’s iconic beaches, including Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon and the Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. Later in the afternoon, ride the cable car up to the peak of the Sugarloaf Mountain, and enjoy the sunset over the amazing scenery of Rio's background.

Day 2 RIO DE JANEIRO: CHRIST THE REDEEMER, CORCOVADO, TIJUCA FOREST

Morning

Early in the morning, hop on the train up the rack railway to the Corcovado Mountain for a spectacular glimpse of Rio, and an up-close look at the majestic statue of Christ the Redeemer, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Then, visit the bohemian neighborhood of Santa Teresa and marvel at its architectural and cultural charms.

Afternoon

Explore the lush greenery of the Tijuca National Forest on a thrilling jeep excursion through the world’s largest urban rainforest. This half-day adventure takes you deep into the Atlantic Forest, with stops at scenic viewpoints, waterfalls, and landmarks like the Cascatinha Waterfall, Vista Chinesa, and Taunay Waterfall. Day 4 AMAZON RAINFOREST: NOCTURNAL BOAT EXCURSION TO SPOT CAIMANS

Morning

In the morning, transfer to your lodge in the Amazonian jungle by speed boat, enjoy the incredible sights of the 'Meeting of the waters', a unique phenomenon that occurs where the dark Negro River meets with the brown Solimões River.

Afternoon

Free afternoon to explore the lodge surroundings, the lush rainforest and meet the local wildlife.

Evening

After dinner take a night tour by canoe in search of caimans.

Day 5 AMAZON RAINFOREST: TREK AND CANOE EXCURSION IN THE JUNGLE

Morning

After breakfast set out for an unforgettable jungle hike. Your tour may start by foot or with a motorized canoe depending on where your guide chooses to start exploring the rainforest. Enjoy the incredible sightings of wildlife while walking under the dense canopy of the Amazon as you learn about the endemic flora and fauna.

Afternoon

After lunch at the lodge you will go on a reconnaissance tour by motorized canoe to visit the river area inlets of the Amazon River and flooded Amazon Rainforest with your guide.

Day 6 TRANSFER TO MANAUS, FLIGHT TO RIO DE JANEIRO

Thank you to Latin Discoveries team, specially to Nathalia for arranging everything for our rather memorable Brazil trip. We discussed about various aspects of the tours and bookings with Nathalia for more than one year. She is always prompt and cordial to provide information, good suggestions about itinerary and bookings of different components of the tour. Tours were good, through the lady tour guide of the Rio city tour was not good at all. Rest of the tour guides were good. Hotels were good too. Overall, we are happy with the service provided by Latin Discoveries, specially the service provided by Nathalia. Thank you Nathalia for everything. :-) In the arrangement of whole tour, one thing we did not like is the way we got access to the Maracana stadium for watching the Brazil vs Chile football match on 4th September. The ticket price was costly (USD 200 per head) though we must say that the area where we were seated was good area of the stadium. Moreover, when Nathalia met us at the hotel in the morning, she said that tickets will be issues against each of us and we need to submit photo ID document (passports) to her so that she can purchase tickets for us, as face recognition will be used to give entry to the stadium. However, we did not receive any ticket. The gentleman who came to pick us up from hotel, took the payment and took us to the stadium. At the gate to enter into the stadium, no biometric/face recognition happened and we got access through the gate when someone used a fob type of card at the gate to unlock the gate and we entered one by one. There was also no seat number. We found the whole process of this access to the stadium not normal and highly likely done through back door in a well pre-arranged nexus manner, with no ticket, no face recognition etc.

Important notes

If necessary, it is imperative to get your yellow fever vaccine at least ten days prior to departure.

Weather conditions in the Amazon rainforest vary greatly depending on the two seasons: the wet season from December to May and the dry season from June until November. Regardless of the season, you have to be prepared for rain throughout the year, although it rains a lot less during the dry season.

We recommend avoiding travel to the Amazon from December to February.
