Itinerary

Day 1 ARRIVAL IN RIO DE JANEIRO

Meet and greet your guide upon arrival at Galeão International Airport in Rio de Janeiro, and transfer to your hotel in Copacabana or Ipanema district.
With the remainder of your day at leisure, opt to explore your neighborhood on foot or soak in the sun at the city's iconic beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana. For passionate football fans - tour Rio's Maracanã Stadium, host of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final and a key player in the 2016 Olympic Games (not included).

Evening

Blessed with kilometers of sandy shorelines, spend your evening watching a fiery sunset while sipping on refreshing caipirinhas at a beachfront bar.

Day 2 BOAT CRUISE, CHRIST THE REDEEMER AT THE CORCOVADO, SAMBA SCHOOL PARADES AT SAMBODROMO

Morning

Cruise on the Guanabara Bay.

A beautiful traditional boat trip, admiring the main tourist and historical sights of the famous Guanabara Bay. A true city tour by the sea. The tour is full of stories from the time of discovery, beautiful natural landscapes, and modern architecture.

Afternoon

Visit one of the world's new Seven Wonders.

710 meters up to the summit of Corcovado Mountain by rack train early this morning for a sublime panoramic view over the city. Standing at the holy feet of Christ the Redeemer, revel in the unobstructed views of lush mountains and island-studded deep blue waters that make up Rio's dramatic backdrop, and listen as your guide points out the sights of the city from atop this granite peak. 

Evening

Seating some 90,000 spectators, the Sambódromo hosts Carnival's main event. Tonight, experience the raucous energy in this stadium as you watch elaborate floats parade through the venue and Rio's top samba schools compete for the prestigious title of first place, all to exotic beats of percussion instruments and a colorful display of twirling dancers in lavishly feathered and beaded costumes.

Day 3 DAY AT LEISURE IN RIO DE JANEIRO

Morning

This five day Rio itinerary calls for a day at leisure. Spend the morning sleeping in, as the parades at the Sambódromo carry on late into the night, often until 3 a.m.

Afternoon

Revisit your favorite beach in Rio this afternoon, or join the joyful crowds at one of the many lively Carnival street parties that erupt throughout the city. This afternoon is yours to spend at leisure.

Evening

For a dose of decadence, participate in one of Rio's ritzy Carnival balls that promises a night of fancy dress, sophisticated party crowds and amped energy. For a more laid back evening, sample platters of grilled meat at one of the city's churrascarias - an all-you-can-eat style steakhouse restaurant.

Day 4 RIO HISTORICAL CENTER AND SUNSET AT THE SUGAR LOAF

Morning

Spend a leisurely morning at the hotel or on a stroll through the neighborhood.

Afternoon

This afternoon, embark on a walking tour through Rio's historic center and discover how life has changed in the city since it served as the nation's capital between 1763 and 1960. Following a visit to the heart of Rio, reach the peak of Sugar Loaf Mountain at 396 meters by cable car, and toast the sunset while drinking in the splendid views of the city's golden beaches and soaring skyscrapers.

Spend the final evening of this Rio de Janeiro itinerary at your leisure.
