11-Day Custom Bolivia Travel – Oruro Carnival & High-Altitude Wonders

2-week Bolivia, Oruro Carnival Tour

Kick off your private tailored trip in Oruro, the folkloric heart of Bolivia, where the country's most iconic celebration takes center stage. Over three exhilarating days, immerse yourself in the vibrant rhythms and spiritual pageantry of the Oruro Carnival, a UNESCO Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage. Be swept away by the kaleidoscope of color, tradition, and symbolism as masked dancers, brass bands, and ornate costumes bring centuries-old Andean and Christian legends to life in the captivating Diablada and Morenada dances. It's a cultural experience unlike any other—where faith, folklore, and festivity meet on the high Bolivian plains.

The journey continues to La Paz, a city of striking contrasts and sky-high altitude, nestled in a dramatic canyon framed by snow-capped peaks. Here, uncover the dynamic pulse of Bolivia’s capital with a visit to the historic city center, before embarking on the fascinating Shoe Shiner City Tour, offering an authentic look into local life from a unique perspective. Partake in a traditional Andean ceremony, connecting with indigenous spiritual customs that remain deeply rooted in Bolivian identity. Cap off your time in La Paz with a stroll through the surreal, wind-sculpted formations of Moon Valley, a landscape that seems to belong to another planet.

Fly south to the spectacular Uyuni Salt Flats, the world’s largest salt desert, where vast white plains stretch endlessly to the horizon. Traverse this otherworldly terrain to reach Incahuasi Island, a cactus-studded oasis offering panoramic views and photo-perfect reflections. The silence and scale of Uyuni offer a profound sense of wonder.

From Uyuni, head into the remote wilderness of San Pedro de Quemez, your gateway to the rugged, unspoiled beauty of the North Lipez Lagoons. These vivid high-altitude lakes—painted in hues of blue, green, and crimson—are a haven for flamingos and Andean wildlife, set against a backdrop of volcanic peaks and windswept plateaus.

Your adventure reaches its breathtaking finale in the South Lipez region, where the raw beauty of Bolivia’s southern highlands is on full display. Journey through the stark expanse of the Siloli Desert and into the pristine ecosystems of the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve. Witness the surreal Arbol de Piedra (Stone Tree), the emerald waters of Laguna Verde, and the bubbling fumaroles of the Sol de Mañana Geysers. Explore the haunting terrain of the Dali Desert, where landscapes resemble the surrealist paintings of the artist himself. Conclude your journey at the flamingo-filled Laguna Colorada, a crimson lake that stands as one of Bolivia’s most iconic natural spectacles.

Combining Bolivia’s most sacred traditions with its most spectacular landscapes, this private custom journey offers an unforgettable immersion into the country’s vibrant spirit and untouched beauty—tailored entirely around you.
