Start your day in Recoleta, the most elegant neighborhood in Buenos Aires. Begin at the Recoleta Cemetery, one of the most iconic cemeteries in the world. Wander through the elaborate mausoleums and be sure to visit the tomb of Evita Perón. Each tomb tells a story, reflecting different artistic and architectural styles that mirror the city’s history.

Just outside the cemetery, visit the Our Lady of Pilar Church, a beautiful colonial-era church from the 18th century that adds a quiet, spiritual touch to the area.

Next, take a walk along Avenida Alvear, known for its stunning architecture, upscale residences, luxury hotels, and art galleries. Enjoy the elegant atmosphere and stop into a gallery or boutique if you’d like.

Take a break at one of Recoleta’s charming cafés, such as La Biela, to enjoy a coffee and some people-watching in Plaza Francia.

Afternoon

Make your way to Plaza Carlos Pellegrini, named after a late 19th-century president and founder of the Jockey Club. This area is home to the historic French and Brazilian embassies, housed in former aristocratic mansions.

From there, continue on to Palermo, the city’s largest district. Head into Palermo Soho or Palermo Hollywood for lunch at one of the many trendy restaurants or cafés.

After lunch, enjoy a relaxing walk through Bosques de Palermo, a sprawling park with picturesque lakes, wooded paths, and gardens. Be sure to visit highlights like the Rose Garden (Rosedal), the Japanese Garden, and the scenic lake.

If you're up for more exploration, you can end the afternoon with a visit to a nearby museum such as MALBA or the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, both offering impressive collections of Latin American and European art.

Next, walk the Lower Circuit, a loop that brings you closer to the base of some of the falls. You’ll feel the mist and power of the water up close, with chances for excellent photo ops and even rainbows. This path involves more stairs and elevation change, so take your time.

Optional: Take a boat ride to the base of the falls if you're looking for an adrenaline boost — expect to get soaked!

Afternoon

After lunch, take the Ecological Jungle Train to the trailhead for the Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat).

Walk the catwalks over the river to reach the massive viewing platform at the edge of the Devil’s Throat, the park’s most powerful and dramatic waterfall. The sound and spray are intense — it’s a highlight of the visit.

Spend time soaking in the incredible views and watching for wildlife like butterflies, toucans, and coatis along the way.
