Cruise Description

This five-day Aqua Nera Amazon River Cruise is jam-packed with opportunities to observe the wildlife of the Peruvian Amazon. The port of Iquitos is the launching-off point for this nature expedition. A journey on the Aqua Nera is the most exclusive way to discover the gems of the Amazon rainforest. Onboard this five-star vessel, spend your time sipping on cocktails at the bar, cooling off in the plunge pool on the sun deck, or watching a movie under the stars at the outdoor cinema. Enjoy an early start to the day and go birdwatching along the Marañon River, when the Amazon’s wildlife is most active. Canoe or swim in the Yanayacu-Pucate River while looking for the famed pink river dolphins. From your guide, learn about the threats that are impacting this rapidly disappearing species and discover how you can help. Visit a traditional Amazonian village where you’ll have the opportunity to interact with the locals and learn about their way of life. When night falls, join a guided stargazing session and identify the planets and constellations among a million twinkling lights. Disembark in Nauta for your onward journey. Along the way, visit the Manatee Rescue Center,  and learn how biologists are rescuing and rehabilitating young manatees, and re-releasing them into the wild.
