Tour Description

This 3-day Amazon tour with the Evolução Ecolodge introduces you to the unique landscape of the rainforest as you glide through black-water flooded forests on a wooden canoe and swim in one of the tributaries of Earth's mightiest river.

You'll also have the opportunity to glimpse the region's diverse wildlife as you embark on a nighttime jungle safari in search of caimans, and observe slow-moving sloths, vibrant colored macaws, and vocal howler monkeys in the towering treetops on a hike through the dense forest.

Spend an afternoon learning about the Amazon from a cultural perspective as you meet the riverside community of Acajatuba Village, and learn the customs and culture of a Caboclo by visiting one of their homes.

Situated 69 km from Manaus, the Evolução Ecolodge offers 22 air-conditioned cottages for a re-energizing night's sleep.

Relive the afternoon's events as you sip on cocktails at their onsite bar, or unwind in the privacy of your personal hammock on your veranda after an exciting day of excursions.

Gain insight into their local customs and culture as you tour their residence, and observe the tedious production process of manioc flour, a key ingredient in the Amazonian diet.

Afternoon

Visit Acajatuba Village at 3 pm, a quaint riverside community situated on incredibly fertile soils. Fringed with swaying palms, discover the variety of fruits that grow on them, like the tucumã, cupuaçu, and açai. Learn how the people of Acatajuba Village practice their resourcefulness by producing artisanal crafts using natural materials found in the jungle.

Evening

After the sun sets, embark on a nighttime jungle safari with your naturalist guide to spot caimans - amphibious carnivores belonging to the alligator family. There are six distinctive species, with the Cuvier’s dwarf the smallest at barely 1 m long, and the black caiman the largest, at up to 4.5 m.
