The Nazca Lines are a series of ancient geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert in southern Peru. These mysterious giant drawings in the desert of werstern Peru were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. Some ancient tribe created these shapes that can only be discerned only from the air. What is their purpose? Why can they only be seen from the sky? Was it humans who really created them? Theories abound, each one more mysterious and mystical than the next.

Even scientists are fascinated by them, and have conducted many tests and devised many theories. Perhaps they were built on the instructions of some extraterrestrial beings! They are uniquely placed to assist in understanding  astronomical cycles, which would have aided farmers in better managing meteorological agrarian cycles. That such an ancient people understood these theories is astounding.  Some believe that the Nazca Lines, traced so carefully on the San José and Socos desert plains, they had a sacred religious , significance.
