One of the most exciting experiences in the Patagonian section of Argentina is a visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier.
This glacial cap is a Protected Area of almost a million and a half acres, containing 356 glaciers. But Perito Moreno is by far the most outstanding one, with a front that is 3 miles long and towers almost 250 feet above the water!
And it is one of the few glaciers in the world that is still growing. It puts on a never ending show, as ice blocks detach from the mother glacier with a roar and float off as little islands of their own. The view of this wall of ice over the waters of Lago Argentino are said to be indescribable.
So instead, live it yourself with a fantastic hike on the glacier or even a leisurely walk along the rim of Lake Argentino.
